Now that we’re settled in to our new flat, I’ve had a little time to start to learn how to watercolour. I’ve been learning mainly from videos on youtube and this is my first watercolour landscape. It’s not actually in Hanoi, but I’m still learning and maybe as I develop I’ll start painting from real life.
I learnt a little bit about perspective with this painting. I didn’t realise that things in the distance are lighter than things in the foreground. I thought that things in the distance were going to be darker, but after drawing this I can see when I look at the world that things do get lighter, the further away they are.
It’s been lovely to finally have time to start to paint as I’ve wanted to do this for so long. Hope you like it!
