I’ve always wondered why we bother to stick Airmail/Par Avion stickers on mail that goes overseas. Surely, if the postal folks see a postcard in the bag, they just stick it on a plane right? Surely it’s counter-intuitive to stick more weight on a letter in the form of a sticker if you want to send it by plane…
For many years I assumed that every postcard went by air, until I decided to send a few without airmail stickers and noticed that some were taking a looooong time to arrive. Thing is, that in the early days of my REAL wall and mailart365 I sent so many postcards I couldn’t really keep track of which ones I put airmail stickers on so I never quite concluded whether the Airmail sticker made a difference.
So now it’s time to work out whether or not Airmail stickers make a difference. For every purchase, I’ll send 2 postcards, randomly picked from our box of postcards to your address, one with an airmail sticker on, and one without and I want to know if they arrive at the same time. Once they arrive, leave a review in the reviews section and let us all know!
This is a limited experiment, which I’ll send from London while we’re back there between Romania and Vietnam between 12-17 September 2013 and is only open to folks outside the UK
